How it works:
The EquiPage system is composed of a transmitter, a repeater, a pocket pager, and an optional auto phone dialer. The transmitter is placed in a small pouch, which is then attached to the mares halter. When the mare lies in the foaling position, the transmitter sends a signal to the repeater, which in turn sends a signal to the pocket pager. The pocket pager then beeps to alert the breeder to the fact that the mare is lying in the foaling position. The optional auto phone dialer will automatically call pre-programmed numbers and play a pre-recorded message, when the mare lies in the foaling position.ystem to detect a mare in labor. You can then check the video surveillance and see if she is in need of assistance.

I purchased this unit a couple of years ago but then stopped breeding and sold my horses. I never got the chance to enjoy the peace of mind a foal alert system can give. Everything appears to be in great working order. There are a total of 5 mare units (these normally sell for $80 each!) 3 nylon pounces the base unit and antenna. All mare units light up and seem to signal the unit as it clicks when placed in the "lay down" position. I do not have the pager, or optional auto dialer these can be ordered from EquiPage for a very reasonable cost.
Also included is a video surveillance system the includes 2 tiny camera that can be mounted nearly anywhere with a magnet, velcro etc. The system will also accept 2 more additional cameras (not included) The video system is in great working order. I also have a color tv to use as a monitor if you are a local pickup. Shipping costs would not be conducive to send the TV. Buy this now and have peace of mind and get some sleep this foaling season!
